Presentation
The Dugat family have been winegrowers in the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation since the beginning of the 17th century. Bernard Dugat and his son, Loîc are the 12th and 13th generation to exploit the unique knowledge of wine-making and working in the vines, which has been acquired over four centuries.
In the old part of the village, at the foot of the Combe de Lavaux, can be found the buildings of the Aumônerie -a small abbey, which from the 9th Century belonged to the St Benigne Abbey in Dijon. Very little remains of these buildings, apart from the cellars, which were built in the 11th and 12th centuries, under directions from Aumônier (Abbot) Halinard. Continuing a nine hundred year tradition, Dugat-Py wines are matured in these magnificent vaulted cellars.

Located in the village of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits.
Soils
Dugat-Py’s vineyards grow on clay-limestone soils, providing structure, balance, and minerality that shape the precision and elegance of its Pinot Noir wines.
Viticulture & Winemaking
Certified Organic and Byodynamic, work in the vineyard is extremely natural, with biodynamic tea preparations, horse plowing in the 1er and Grand Cru vineyards, and no vine trimming.
The vineyard is managed like a garden, with a rare know-how, an attention to the smallest details. Coming from old vines of massal selection, the grapes give the wines a singular density. The winemaking is traditional with oak ageing for 12 to 20 months depending on the cuvée. Vinified without any artifice, with a large proportion of whole grapes, they are colorful, with a strong imprint of the terroir, finer than in the past and reveal themselves only after an aging of several years. The estate has been certified organic since 2015.
