Presentation
Domaine Cécile Tremblay is located in Morey-Saint-Denis and owns prestigious plots across several renowned Burgundian terroirs, from Nuits-Saint-Georges to the grand crus Échezeaux and Chapelle-Chambertin. Cécile Tremblay is the great-niece of the legendary Burgundian winemaker Henri Jayer. In 2002, Cécile took over her family vineyards, and on 1 January 2003, she officially founded the estate that today bears her name, starting with just four hectares of vines. The estate has grown steadily since, with all vineyards cultivated organically and ploughed both mechanically and with a horse. In only a few vintages, Cécile has established herself as one of the rising stars of the new generation. She manages vineyards inherited from her great-grandparents, small but ideally located plots in Vosne-Romanée, Morey-Saint-Denis, Chambolle-Musigny, and Gevrey-Chambertin, all converted to organic farming. Skilled in vinification with unstemmed grapes, her focus is always on balance, producing wines with exceptional velvety textures. From Vosne-Romanée to Chapelle-Chambertin, her wines have become essential references. The domaine continues to evolve toward greater purity and a precise expression of terroir, with wines that are remarkably approachable, elegant, and refined from an early stage.

Viticulture & Winemaking
The vineyards are managed with Biological agriculture and Biodynamic principles.
Each plot is carefully tended to ensure the full expression of its terroir, with minimal chemical intervention. Harvest is by hand, and grapes are sorted meticulously before vinification. In the cellar, Cécile adapts her methods to the characteristics of each plot and vintage. Whenever possible, grapes are vinified as whole clusters using indigenous yeasts. Extraction is gentle, and wines are softly pressed to preserve delicate aromatics. Red wines are aged 15–18 months in oak barrels, with the proportion of new oak carefully selected to complement the wine rather than dominate it. Minimal intervention continues throughout the winemaking process: wines are handled as little as possible, unfined and unfiltered, to maintain purity, texture, and aromatic complexity. The result is a precise, expressive style that showcases both the vineyard’s identity and Cécile Tremblay’s philosophy of restraint and respect for the vine.
