DOMAINE LES PALLIERES

One of the great Gigondas estates was purchased in 1998 by the Brunier family - owners of celebrated Chateauneuf estate Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe - in association with US wine merchant, Kermit Lynch.
Pallières covers 25 hectares of ideally located vineyards on the higher craggy slopes of the appellation below the Dentelles de Montmirail. The age of the vines averages about 55 years, making for a rich wine that is finished with some new oak to ensure polish and appeal. From the 2007 vintage the Brunier brothers, Daniel and Frederic decided to make two different cuvess which reflect very different altitudes, age of vines, soil types and grape blends. The Terrasse du Diable comes from vines planted on step terrasses of 250 - 450 metres of approx 40 years of age where the Grenache is blended with Mourvedre and Clairette, whereas the Racines is planted on the lower slopes surrounding the property where the soil is a little richer and deeper and the vines average 70 years old. There is proportion of Syrah and Clairette to accompany a predominantley Grenache blend.

Only valid for : Australia, Malta, Malaysia, Sweden and Taiwan.
