A whiff of matchstick weaves through the creamed quince, persimmon and nectarine flavors here, with a languid, lightly toasted brioche finish. Drink now through 2015. 1,700 cases made. –JM

A stunning, dry Vouvray (although I suspect there is a touch of residual sugar), this 2011 possesses a flamboyant nose of peaches, orange marmalade, lemon custard and spring flowers. Medium-bodied, elegant, and totally satisfying both intellectually and on the palate, this white wine should drink nicely for several years.

Quite forward, with a flattering, off-dry edge to the pear, quince, brioche and ginger notes, which are offset by a twinge of green plum on the finish.

Offers a delightful core of pear, fig and green apple, all harnessed by bracing ginger and lime notes on the edges. The finish is long and minerally. Very pure.

Light, bright yellow. Fresh pear and nectarine aromas are complicated by dusty mineral and quinine qualities, with a touch of beeswax gaining power with air. Bitter pear skin and citrus pith flavors are complemented by a sweeter, deeper melon note and pick up a touch of anise on the back half. Already shows very good complexity but the zesty base of minerality suggests that this will reward patience.

Ripe, open and juicy, with friendly lime, quince and green almond notes that are forward, but stay remarkably persistent on the rounded finish.

Light, bright gold. Racy, mineral-driven aromas of quince, lime and jasmine, with a strong undercurrent of talc. Firm and focused but not hard, offering tangy citrus and orchard fruit flavors and a touch of candied flowers. Finishes with very good sappy persistence and an echo of bitter quinine.

Tasty apple, fig, ginger and clove aromas and flavors here, with a sweet, plump feel. Shows some maple and brown sugar hints too. Not as chiseled or pure as the better examples, but this will still have some fans for sure.
