CHATEAU CAP LEON VEYRIN

This property dates back to 1810 and it was acquired by the Meyre family in 1908. Alain Meyre, the current owner, emphasises the respect for traditional viticulture and wine making techniques, though he uses modern equipment. Little known in most export markets, Château Cap Léon Veyrin deserves more attention - the wines rank with the very best of Listrac and without doubt can outlive most. The vineyards adjoin Château Chasse Spleen and Château Clarke but the Château itself is further north at Donissan. The wines are aged in the classic Médoc manner with a large proportion of new oak ... they have class and elegance as well as the structure and power for long ageing.
Cap Léon Veyrin is also a rural guest house offering comfortable rooms and delicious meals prepared with loving care by the hospitable Madame Meyre.
