Drinks International’s annual classification of the top 50 most admired wine brands lists GUIGAL as the world’s most admired French wine brand.
Published this week, the annual survey accompanies the April issue of Drinks International. The panel of judges is asked to vote for the brands they most admire from all regions throughout the world based on specific criteria: consistently improving quality; reflection of regional terroir and country of origin; marketing and packaging and broad global brand appeal. The judges are drawn from a wide spectrum of the global wine trade including: Masters of Wine; sommeliers; buyers; importers; journalists and wine educators.
The Guigal family is renowned for the standards of quality and the professional work ethic it upholds. It is delighted that the quality of its work and wines has been recognized at the very top of the French wine brands’elite. As Philippe Guigal states, “For us as a producer and for the region as a whole, the Rhône Valley has never been more exciting. It’s important that wine drinkers have a wonderful and unique experience when they drink a bottle of Rhône wine. We hope that when they open a bottle of Guigal wine that they will take the time to enjoy it, learn about it and fall in love with the wines from our region.”
Despite a global downturn for many French brands, Guigal holds strong in 6th place in this global ranking which also places it as the world’s second most admired European brand.
