You may already have seen the « lowlight » of our Spanish roadtrip : an hour on the side of the autopista waiting for the recovery team to fix our blown tire.

Fortunately, the rest of the trip featured a series of highlights, which we would love to share with you (in no particular order) over the days to come…

The Godelia Girls - Sara (Sales) and Olga (Winemaking) – introduce us to their brand new GODELIA BIERZO ROSADO. Buoyed by their Wine Spectator Top 100 success, the girls took on the challenge of making the sort of rosé they would like to drink. The result took us completely by surprise. 100% Mencia, the wine is nevertheless pale in colour, with an intriguing blue grey tinge. Pure, bright and fresh on the nose, with blueberry fruit, strawberries and cream, and a floral, almost minty lift. Crisp and acidulated on the attack, a smooth creamy mid-palate, and a gently bittersweet herbal finish. Light, elegant but vibrant at the same time, this is one of the very best rosé wines we have ever tasted from Spain.
